Biography

Carlos Moreira is a visionary entrepreneur, Internet pioneer, and internationally recognized expert in cybersecurity, digital identity, and trusted digital ecosystems. He is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of WISeKey International Holding AG, as well as Chairman and CEO of SEALSQ, a company focused on secure semiconductors and post-quantum cybersecurity technologies.

Before founding WISeKey, Carlos spent more than 17 years as a United Nations expert, advising international organizations including the UN, World Bank, UNDP, and WTO-related bodies on cybersecurity, trust models, and digital commerce. This unique combination of international policy expertise and technology leadership has positioned him as a leading voice in digital trust and cybersecurity.

Since launching WISeKey in 1999, he has led the development of technologies that secure digital identities, connected devices, and critical infrastructures. Under his leadership, WISeKey and SEALSQ have become recognized innovators in cybersecurity, IoT security, semiconductors, and quantum-resilient technologies, helping organizations build trust in an increasingly connected world.

Carlos is also the founder of OISTE.org and the Geneva Security Forum and has actively contributed to numerous global initiatives, including the World Economic Forum and the United Nations Global Compact.
